Online safety awareness session
DILA successfully held an online safety awareness session reaching over 50 youth from both refugee and host communities in Omugo zone, Rhino camp Refugees settlement, Terego district--Uganda.
Youth were guided on responsible social media use and the risks of sharing false information, cyberbullying, and online conflicts. Many young people misuse social media simply because they lack guidance.
Through this campaign, DILA encouraged youth to use social media positively—to connect with employers and educators, learn new skills, and showcase their talents, instead of using it for insults or online fights.
The youth appreciated the session and requested DILA to continue such awareness so more young people can learn how to stay safe online.
DILA is currently working with refugee and host community youth in Omugo, with plans to expand to other zones in Rhino Camp.
💚 Together, we can build a safer digital space for young people.
