DILA gives start up to beneficiaries

Image
With funding from Cohere under IKEA Project, DILA is proud to support the first cohort of 19 adolescent school dropout girls in Omugo camp who successfully completed our Liquid Soap Making Training. Following the training, the beneficiaries were provided with startup materials to help them begin producing and selling liquid soap as a group. This support is aimed at promoting self-reliance, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods among vulnerable young women. Through this initiative, the girls are putting their newly acquired skills into practice, generating income, and building a brighter future for themselves and their communities. We remain committed to empowering young people with practical skills and opportunities that enhance their economic resilience and long-term sustainability. #DILA #YouthEmpowerment #SkillsDevelopment #WomenEmpowerment #Livelihoods #EconomicResilience #LiquidSoapMaking

Farmer groups receives garden tools from DILA

Image
DILA has given important garden tools to three farmer groups from Village 1 and Amuru Village in Omugo Zone, Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement. The tools include spraying pumps, watering cans, hoes, forked hoes, slashers, and panga knives. They were given at the right time as the planting season starts. The farmers said they are happy and ready to work together carefully, keep the tools safe, and use them well to improve their group farming. This support was made possible through funding from COHERE under the IKEA Project. DILA will continue to support refugee and host communities by improving livelihoods, promoting food security, and creating better opportunities through agriculture and digital technology. #DILA #COHERE #IKEAProject #FoodSecurity #

Their smile is our motivation

Image
At DILA, our greatest motivation is seeing smiles on the faces of vulnerable people, especially refugees and underserved host communities. This is why our work focuses on promoting economic growth, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihoods within these communities. While we may not always provide direct financial support, we remain committed to equipping vulnerable individuals with practical skills and knowledge that can help them improve their standards of living and create better opportunities for themselves and their families. Through the Skills Acceleration for Youth Resilience Project, DILA is committed to ensuring that beneficiaries receive the training, mentorship, and support outlined in the project plan. Our goal is to empower communities with skills that lead to lasting change and resilience. We call upon donors, partners, and well-wishers to join us in expanding our impact and reaching more vulnerable people. Together, we can create opportunities, restore hope, and build st...

Laying the Foundation for Youth Vegetable Farming in Refugee and Host Communities

Image
With the support of local community leaders, we were able identify beneficiaries for the vegetable growing activity under the Skills Acceleration for Youth Resilience Project and conducted a baseline survey. The survey helped us understand what participants know about vegetable growing, the challenges they face, and how they sell their produce. The information collected will help us plan activities that respond to their real needs and measure the project's impact over time. We thank the community leaders and beneficiaries for their cooperation and participation. #YouthResilience #VegetableGrowing #SkillsDevelopment #DILA

Video based learning sessions for children

Image
Children are the future of every community. That is why DILA initiated the Holiday Program for children in Omugo Zone of Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement, Terego District. During holidays, many children stay idle at home without activities that can help them grow, learn, and interact positively with others. Some become exposed to bad peer influence, early behaviors, stress, and loss of confidence. As DILA, we saw the need to create a safe and friendly space where children can spend their holidays learning, discovering talents, building friendships, and gaining hope for a better future. Through this program, children participate in learning activities, talent development, games, teamwork, guidance sessions, creativity, and social interaction. The program also helps children improve confidence, communication skills, discipline, and unity among themselves. The impact has already started showing through active participation, improved social connection among children, happiness, cr...

Imagine these children saving the environment!

Image
Today I spent time with children, listening to them, learning from them, and trying to understand their world. In this digital age, things are changing very fast, and I keep asking myself: what really works best for them? These children are full of dreams, curiosity, and energy. But many of them are still left behind when it comes to digital skills, especially compared to those studying in urban areas. This is the gap we must close. I am taking time to observe, to ask questions, and to understand what they truly need so we can design solutions that fit their reality. Not just bringing technology, but making it meaningful, simple, and accessible for them. Every child deserves a fair chance to learn, explore, and grow in this digital world. And I am committed to being part of that journey.

Adolescent girls need to be empowered

Image
In Omugo, adolescent girls represent the highest number of school dropouts. Many face challenges that prevent them from continuing their education, leaving them with limited opportunities to thrive. At Digital Innovators League Africa (DILA), we are committed to empowering these adolescents—helping them stay in school and providing alternative pathways for those who have dropped out. Through skills development, mentorship, and community support, we aim to create opportunities for them to build a better future. We invite donors and partners to join us in this mission. By supporting these adolescents today, we are investing in a generation of confident, skilled, and resilient young women. #YouthEmpowerment #GirlsEducation #AdolescentDevelopment #DILA #Omugo #InvestInGirls
